MIND THE GAP LIVE

Man, 2020 has just been insane. And it’s only MAY!

In these strange, strange times – when people are more separated than ever (hashtag thanks COVID) – we’ve launched a new web show to bring people together again…virtually.

MIND THE GAP LIVE is a collaboration between SolidRoots and Kid@Heart where we basically play MIND THE GAP via a video conference. Instead of going around the board, we pit a couple of teams against each other and go 4-5 rounds of solid generational trivia. Teams try to answer a question from each generation – Boomer to Zoomer – in each category from the board game: TV/Film, Pop Culture, Music, Headlines, and Slang/Slogans. The team with the most points at the end is crowned the winner.

“But what about the Challenge Cards?”

I’m so glad you asked. We’ve recently introduced a segment where our very own tone-deaf co-creator Chris will hum a popular song or a TV show theme song. It’s terrible but we just can’t seem to look away. It’s like a train wreck.

We play every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm Central. You can watch live by liking SolidRoots’ page on Facebook. You’ll get notified when we go live and you can play along in the comments! Or you can catch replays on our YouTube channel.

Regardless of which you choose, you’ll get to see Cousin Edi all the way from England. That accent is adorable. And man, is that host Steve the coolest or what? (Hint: he’s the coolest)

And if you think you have what it takes to play the game, you can sign up right now at mindthegapgame.com! Registrations are open and we’ll schedule you as soon as possible.

Here’s to being with your people as much as possible for the rest of 2020.

I had the opportunity to play the very first broadcast game and had a blast. We came in second place out of four teams. It was eye opening on how much I didn’t know and I was proud of my teammates for stepping it up and making it fun. I had never met my teammates before but by the end of the game we were all buddies! I’m considered a somewhat shy person and I thought this would be out of my comfort zone, however it was a lot of fun and I would love to do it again. I can highly recommend everyone to give it a try. You will be surprised!
